Clothing
should be safe for children to wear: i.e. students should avoid dangling
jewelry, platform or high heels shoes and garments that restrict movement or
present a tripping hazard.
Parents, together with students, are responsible to
ensure that students:
1.
Wear clean and appropriate clothing.
2.
Practice good hygiene and grooming. Use of hair color is a personal
choice. However, all color must be applied at home. Hair color products
brought to school will be considered contraband.
3.
Wear covered shoes for physical education classes; for field trips,
playing on the field, courts, and 4 square areas; and when working in the
cafeteria, office, and library.
4.
Wear shoes that have heels as wide as the shoe, and no higher than
1-1/2”.
5.
Wear clothing that covers undergarments, midriff (belly button), chest,
back, and sides. Tops must have a strap, but cannot be tied behind the neck.
6.
Wear shorts and skirts that are longer than the fist when arms are
hanging at the side.
7.
Do not wear:
·
Clothing that shows drug, alcohol, and tobacco use & products.
·
Clothing with foul and offensive language
·
Clothing that shows violence
The dress code also applies to
any volunteers on campus and chaperones on educational excursions.
