Legislative Act 219 established statewide Jr. Kindergarten to provide for a learning curriculum that is sensitive to your student’s developmental needs and create a positive early school experience

  5 years old after August 1 but before December 31 register for Jr. Kindergarten

  5 years old on or before August 1 register for kindergarten.

Mililani Uka will continue our past practice of dividing students equally and fairly among classrooms. Classes will have a mix of kindergarten and junior kindergarten students.

Junior kindergarten and kindergarten students will be able to be promoted to the first grade. However, junior kindergarten students will also be able to remain in kindergarten for another year. Students will move from junior kindergarten to the developmentally appropriate grade level at the end of the year.

Providing a learning curriculum that is sensitive to young students developmental needs will provide early positive school experiences. These experiences play an important part in establishing the foundation for future school attitudes and success. Our goal is to provide all students with positive early experiences that promote life long learners.
