Any time children arrive in school after 7:55 a.m.
they are considered tardy. Tardy students must report to the office to obtain a
tardy slip before being admitted to class. All tardies are considered
“unexcused” except for those caused by circumstances that are not reasonably
foreseeable or within the control of the student or parent.
The consequences of having unexcused tardies are:
1st and 2nd
unexcused tardies within one school quarter, a student is counseled and warned
by his/her teacher. Parent is contacted. Student is removed from perfect
attendance recognition.
3rd unexcused
tardy within one school quarter, a student is referred to an administrator and
is given a one recess detention.
4th or more
unexcused tardies within one school quarter, the student is referred to an
administrator and is given two recess detentions.
The Tardy policy and mechanism for enforcement is
available for review in the office.
